poison_isleyEver since the station, Ivy had been keeping very much to herself. She'd known she would be in trouble, but it was more the whispers and accusations of her own people than the disapproval of the commander that had her apart and alone.
Today she was working with a sapling that had been contaminated by spores. The nature of the spores was a symbiotic relationship, but she new the little tree would never survive. It was too young. But she did what she could, sitting next to it and encouraging the tree to survive and the fungus to hold off.
She only looked up when she heard the doors and footsteps. A smear of dirt on her cheek and a few stray leaves in her hair, she almost looked like a plant herself.
"Hello? she said quietly.

"Eat it," she said. "It'll calm you down, sweetie."

"Is... Is this real?" Or had he lost it completely?

"I'm sorry... It's just, you're like a dream and I didn't think it could be real. So much shit isn't real."

A gardener walked past and Ivy smiled at her, which was met with a frown. Ivy's smile fell.
She wondered if she should assure him, but instead awaited the answer.

Date: 2021-09-11 11:40 pm (UTC)Ivy took his hand in both of hers and led him deeper into the greenery. Beyond the beds with fresh sprouts growing was a system of pipes and pools. There was a large tank with duckweed and lily pads on top. She took him to the edge and beneath the surface were shimmering gold and orange and black fish. Seeing someone there, the fish came to the surface and mouthed at the air in search of food. Ivy reached in her pocket and pulled out fresh peas.
"Would you like to feed them?" she asked, offering the veg.

"They're always so eager. You'd think we never feed them."

"If you tell me what's wrong, plants have the capability to help, sometimes even cure. And I can make anything grow."
She paused and smiled at him.

Date: 2021-09-21 02:11 pm (UTC)"Oh, my brain is broken. I hallucinate people," Klaus said. "Dead people. Though, I saw this guy's dead boyfriend the other day... So maybe I'm not hallucinating them and I really see dead people. Not sure which of those two is worse..."
