Ivy was so fucking bored. She'd robbed a jewelry store, a book shop, and liberated a flower shop. Now that she's bought her latte and was in her car she grew frustrated trying to think of what to do to kill the itch she had to just...just fucking tear something down. Like Big Ben. Or the Eyes. Something cool.
Rather than go full on chaos, she swung her little red convertible around and headed to Klaus's flat. Now that he and Eliot had patched things up she wasn't seeing him as often as she liked. She'd like it if he stayed at hers, but he was his own person and blah blah or whatever.
She was casual today in a pair of good skinny jeans and a Bad Religion shirt. Her hair was down and loose and her sunglasses she'd pushed up, which kept here hair back.
"You better be home, loser," she said to herself as she knocked firmly.

Date: 2020-09-15 11:54 am (UTC)For a so-called ex-superhero, Klaus had no problems with Ivy's methods. Sure, in his childhood he'd stopped bank robbers and stuff, but always the goal was to prepare them to save the world from apocalyptic threats. Stopping crime had brought them fame, but it had never been his father's goal. And he wasn't about to judge her on her death-count, if his own most darlingest, sweetest brother had the highest, gruesomest death-count of them all.
He had discussed this with Aaron, but Aaron didn't fault him for his friendship with a former criminal (okay, he'd left out the part where they were robbing stores together). In fact, he encouraged it, because she was bringing out something good; a new friendship entirely unrelated to drink and drugs.
"We can dress up after."
At the place they ordered their fatty, fatty delicious fish and chips. "Oh, god, this is good," Klaus sighed happily as he took the first bite.

Date: 2020-09-16 10:45 am (UTC)Ivy ordered just chips and a side of slaw. This place actually had the best food.
"So your father made you do ballroom?" Ivy asked, coming round to that again once they had their baskets.

Date: 2020-09-16 11:46 am (UTC)"Your childhood was weird," she noted, breaking a chip in half to let the steam out.

Date: 2020-09-16 12:40 pm (UTC)Klaus looked up with sad puppy dog eyes. "Yeah, I know. We were never kids to him. Just...tools."

Date: 2020-09-16 12:42 pm (UTC)"We should fix that," she said. "Like a do-over. You and me. Normal stuff."
She hadn't always been like...this. She'd been a child. A normal child.

Date: 2020-09-16 12:53 pm (UTC)Klaus smiled. "That sounds great," he said. "But I always liked the dancing. And I was always paired with Diego, so you can lead!" he teased.

Date: 2020-09-16 02:36 pm (UTC)"You are a brave, brave man to trust me to lead," she laughed. Chuck...had not been into it.

Date: 2020-09-16 03:35 pm (UTC)Klaus imagined she wasn't one to follow anyway. And he was never a leader.
They changed and arrived to the ballroom a little while later. Looks were given. Fucks were not given.
Klaus looked pretty awesome in his embroidered suit and purple tie. Pity he forgot the shoes, so he was suppressed in sneakers.

Date: 2020-09-16 03:41 pm (UTC)When Ivy emerged she had little vines and leaves in her hair. Her gown was a form fitting, low cut, low backed, sequined number and she hadn't forgotten a pair of black Laboutain's. She was such a sucker for that red sole.
And on the dance floor she showed she'd played down how good she was. Graceful, and strong too, but just a bit restrained in her lead.
"You're really fucking good," she grinned.

Date: 2020-09-16 05:42 pm (UTC)"So are you! Plus you're catching everyone's eye. They're so jealous of me right now," Klaus grinned. Also, probably, they noticed her skin and maybe knew of a criminal of the same colour.

Date: 2020-09-17 04:52 am (UTC)"Bullshit. They're totally jealous of you," she smiled, her eyes only on him. She looked at him with such affection and pride.
It was sort of nice to have a bff that wasn't an unpredictable psychopath. A little psycho, but just as a treat. Klaus was certainly no Celina or Harley. Or Psycho. Or half a shark. Or made of...clay.

Date: 2020-09-17 07:22 am (UTC)She looked at him like a big sister. He thought of her like a big sister. Kinda like Allison - except where she was a lot more into crime than his sister ever was. But it was nice, he thought, to have someone like that again. He missed Allison. But she'd made it perfectly clear last time he crashed over at her place that he wasn't welcome there anymore. Maybe he should visit her, now that he was cleaned up. Would she believe him?
"Oh, they are, because I'm dancing with the hottest lady in the room."

Date: 2020-09-17 05:26 pm (UTC)"You're a charmer, Klaus," she smiled. Then she gave him a pointed look. "How's it with Eliot lately?"
no subject
Date: 2020-09-17 05:52 pm (UTC)"Eliot and I are fine, Ivy," Klaus assured her, for what seemed to be the hundredth time. Maybe she'd believe him this time. "He's happy to be working again and I'm happy he's happy."

Date: 2020-09-17 05:59 pm (UTC)SHe laid her hand lightly on his cheek.
"I just worry about you, cupcake. My friends have a shitty track record with partners so I guess I'm a little gun-shy."

Date: 2020-09-18 03:49 pm (UTC)She knew, and she believed Klaus and her gut. Eliot was fine. A little uptight, but whatever. So was Chuck.
But she just couldn't trust him.
"I trust you," she said, and offered a smile. "You wanna sit the next one out and get a mocktail?"
no subject
Date: 2020-09-18 05:20 pm (UTC)Klaus nodded. Once they were settled at the bar, with a cock- and a mocktail, Klaus spoke again. "So, how come you distrust men so much?"

Date: 2020-09-18 05:37 pm (UTC)"Baby, let me get two drinks in me and I'll tell you why. In detail," she grinned. "Basically it's daddy issues, but there's so much more."
no subject
Date: 2020-09-18 06:29 pm (UTC)"Isn't everything daddy issues?" Klaus asked, mocking his own family as much as everyone else's.
no subject
Date: 2020-09-18 06:32 pm (UTC)"Hey, now. Sometimes it's mommy issues," she pointed out, then took a generous swallow of her fruity coctail.

Date: 2020-09-18 06:33 pm (UTC)Klaus laughed bitterly. "Want to hear about my mother? My dad made her. All my mommy issues are still daddy issues."

Another quarter of the drink gone.

Date: 2020-09-18 06:43 pm (UTC)Klaus, like his siblings, loved his mother dearly. She'd always been a person to them - to him. "She was really sweet," he said, smiling a little at her thought. "Infinitely patient. Stern when she had to be, but she was never angry and she never yelled at us. She used to make smiley faces out of our breakfast eggs and he used to bake the best cookies. God, I got so sick one day, I ate all the batter. It was so delicious."
